It’s been 10 days since NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) revealed its first awe-inspiring images to the public.
미국 항공우주청(NASA)에서 제임스 웹 우주망원경(JWST)의 입이 떡 벌어지는 첫 관측 상을 대중에 공개한지도 열흘이 지났습니다.
In January 2022, a month after the JWST's launch into space, the telescope began to unfold its 18 mirrors. By mid-March, all 18 mirrors were working in harmony to produce the telescope's first fully aligned image: a single star that turned out to be far more than expected.
2022년 1월 JWST가 우주로 발사된지 한달이 지날 무렵 망원경은 18개의 거울을 펼쳤죠. 3월 중간쯤에 18개의 반사경들이 모두 조화를 이뤄 이 망원경의 모든 거울이 광축을 맞춘 첫 영상을 생성 했는데 영상에 찍힌 별은 기대했던 것보다 한참 못 미쳤었습니다.
And that was just the beginning of this space telescope’s tale.
